NEW Health Insurance Program for AIA Members
One of the most frequently requested member benefits is access to affordable group health insurance. For the last several years, the AIA Trust has been working to identify a comprehensive and competitive health insurance program for AIA members – complicated by Federal and state regulations that make it extremely difficult to develop a national solution. The AIA Trust has just launched a new group health insurance program for members with firms of at least two employees.
AIA Members with firms of at least two employees in participating states, as well as component staffs with the same factors, will now have access to a variety of group health insurance plans through Trustmark with flexible benefit choices including PPO and consumer-directed plans, as well as options such as health savings accounts and pharmacy benefits. Note that Trustmark plans are NOT available in 21 states due to state insurance regulations. As regulations change, Trustmark may be able to offer competitive plans in more states.
A letter from the AIA Trust was sent at the end of May to Component Executives and Presidents of unstaffed Components in those states where Trustmark is offering competitive plans. For members in states where Trustmark cannot offer plans, they may continue to utilize HealthInsurance.com via the AIA Trust website for competitive quotes.
About Trustmark
Trustmark has assets of more that $1.7 billion, and has a reputation for long-term financial stability. Rated A- (Excellent) by A.M. Best and A- (Strong) by Fitch Ratings, Trustmark has nearly 100 years experience in the insurance industry and more than 50 years as a leader serving associations and other affiliated organizations.
Participation
Members and components are encouraged to ‘get the word out’ about the new program as wider member participation may result in better plan experience – which in turn will help lower overall insurance costs for all participating members. In the coming months and years, there may be significant & ongoing changes in the national healthcare arena. With significant participation, the AIA Trust will cultivate premium savings for participating members based on good plan experience. At the same time, the AIA Trust will continue to monitor the marketplace for the best possible programs to offer to AIA members.
As of July 2010, the AIA Trust program with Trustmark is available in 29 states. Visit www.TheAIATrust.com for details about this program and other healthcare coverage.
