Professional Liability Program

Although architects always try to do their best for their clients, mistakes do happen. And in such a litigious society, lawsuits have become an inevitability. Professional liability coverage not only pays judgment costs, it also prepares you for a lawsuit by paying claims defense costs. After all, even the fraudulent claims cost your firm money.

Since 1957 and reaffirmed in 2007, the AIA has commended the CNA/Schinnerer Professional Liability Insurance Program as the program of choice for the challenges that architects face today and in the future. Administered by Victor O. Schinnerer & Company, Inc., the AIA approached Schinnerer to develop a program that was more than just a policy. The AIA commendation of the CNA/Schinnerer program, marketed through the AIA Trust, has continued for more than 50 years. Schinnerer continues to demonstrate their commitment to the architectural industry by meeting the Commendation Criteria established by the AIA Board of Directors—a testament to the company’s strength, durability and commitment to quality.

New in 2009, the CNA/Schinnerer program is offering a special premium credit for AIA members. Architecture firms with up to $5 million in billings and an acceptable loss ratio are eligible (subject to state approval) for a premium credit of up to 5 percent. » Click for details.
