What's the Value of the AIA Trust?
You may wonder why the AIA Trust exists when you're perfectly capable of finding insurance and retirement programs on your own? That's an important question to explore so you can get the most out of your AIA membership benefits.
The AIA Trust is charged with offering insurance and benefit programs of the greatest possible value to members and components. The Trust, governed by six AIA members and one component executive, does not simply endorse available programs, but works with independent consultants, experts in their respective fields regarding insurance and benefit programs. They participate in a program review process to determine how well programs meet member needs. The Trust has established a number of criteria by which programs are selected and maintained. AIA Trust programs must continue to meet these criteria and the Trust is now establishing a regular review period for each program to evaluate it against similar marketplace programs.
The evaluative criteria for Trust programs are very broad in scope. Each program is researched in detail to be sure the program meets each criterion. The criteria range from maintaining a high financial rating and stability to demonstrating a member service commitment to offering competitive pricing.
Every effort is made to identify and offer programs that best meet member needs - so that you don't spend your time researching insurance nor engaging in "guesswork." Best of all, the AIA Trust serves as the member's advocate to get information and claims resolution quickly. To learn more about AIA Trust programs, visit www.TheAIATrust.com or call 202-626-7376.

AIA Trust News
The Trust recently tabulated the results of a readership survey regarding AIA Trust News, the quarterly newsletter of the AIA Trust. Nearly 300 members responded, indicating strong interest in the newsletter and for articles on business practice and risk management, along with information about CES seminars.
Survey respondents were entered in a drawing for a Nikon digital camera. The winner of the camera is Mark Isaacs, AIA, who has his own firm in Louisville, KY. Congratulations, Mark – and thanks to all members who participated!
AIA Trust News is sent quarterly to all AIA firm owners and managers and AIA national and component leadership and contains articles on risk management, member and firm benefits, and health and safety issues. Newsletter articles are also published on the AIA Trust web site and may be reprinted in component publications. For any questions regarding the newsletter, please email: acasso@aia.org.
